The North Georgia Candy Roaster Squash is a large winter/hard squash that averages in size of a half a meter in length and 20 centimeters wide and around 5 kilos from Northern Georgia, USA. The oblong squash has orange flesh and a light orange with greenish-teal tip on its outer shell was originally grown by the Cherokee Nation. It is similar to a Banana Squash and Butternut Squash with a buttery, nutty, slightly-sweet flavor and creamy texture. Cut in half, remove seeds and roast, bake, braise or steam and use for a vegetable side dish, soup, or stew.
