Recently Foraged Ingredients: Vol. 27

This is our first edition of Recently Foraged Ingredients for 2016. This is a short list, but hopefully it is a good start for discovering new ingredients for the new year. Talk with your vendors and farmers to see what produce is available in your area. The winter produce is here and will be with us for a while. The available ingredients we’re seeing right now are brassicas, root vegetables, braising greens, mushrooms & winter squashes. On the fruit front, look for the many different varieties of citrus, apples and pears. As the Super Bowl gets closer, check out the many types of avocados you can use for your Guacamole.
