The chocolate persimmon is sweeter then a Fuyu Persimmon with a brown chocolate colored flesh. The chocolate persimmon can be eaten firm or soft when it is at its sweetest or braised for a chutney. The best substitutes for the chocolate persimmon are the Fuyu Persimmon and the Amagaki Persimmon.
