Ingredient Of The Day: Gin

Gin, aka Genever or Genièvre, is a spirit traditionally made with Juniper Berry and other botanicals like citrus, flowers, other spices, and sometimes Cucumber. It has a floral-astringent-slightly spicy-slightly bitter flavor. For culinary purposes it can be used in sauces or maybe a Granita to top Oysters but usually it used for cocktails like the martini.
